Today was an exciting day for my brother. We were going to Toledo, Spain for him to design a sword at Fabrica Zamorano. This factory is one of few places in Toledo keeping the tradition of sword making alive.
The drive was not too long because we were all so excited for him. Once we got there, it was hard to find parking because all of the streets were small and narrow. After a while of struggling we made it to the sword factory. Michael had a lot of fun designing his sword.
The factory was especially interesting because of the generations of Zamorano’s who made swords there. We got a tour of the workshop and saw how they made every sword so unique.
Even though it was such a cool experience, I was more interested in the ice cream next door! We walked around the historic city for hours trying to find our car because we lost it in the twists and turns of the narrow roads. There were so many beautiful buildings, a cathedral, castles, and tons of stone walls. All in all, it was a great day to learn about history and the culture of Spain, specifically in Toledo – the city of Spanish sword making!
